USCA ICF Junior, Under 23, and Senior – Marathon, Sprint and/or Canoe Ocean Racing (Surfski)

The United States Canoe Association (USCA) has established a program to provide travel support to USCA members who compete in elite International Canoe Federation (ICF) Junior/Under 23/Senior Marathon, Sprint and Canoe Ocean Racing international competitions. The goal of the program is to encourage all of our younger paddlers to strive for the excellence that international competition represents, and to assist our most promising, and accomplished, younger members to be able to compete with the best marathon paddlers in the world, at the ultimate paddling events.

Specifically, the USCA will provide up to $3000 annually to fund qualifying USCA member travel to the annual ICF Junior/Under 23/Senior World Sprint, Marathon or Canoe Ocean Racing Championships, and other significant elite international competitions. Other elite international competition would include but not be limited to: ICF World Cup events; Sella, Spain; Hansa Fish River, SA – for Marathon: or events in the World Surfski Series such as the Canadian Surfski Championships or Gorge Downwind Championships, OR – for Canoe Ocean Racing. A maximum of $1,000 may be awarded to any one individual attending an ICF Championship. No more than $500 may be awarded to any qualified individual attending another ICF event. $1,000 is the maximum total annual award to any one individual attending multiple international events. To be considered for a travel scholarship an applicant must:

  1. Be a USCA member at the time of application
  2. Have participated in at least one USCA National Canoe & Kayak Championships.
  3. Have been selected to be on a US National Team.
